Is this a poor time to buy a home?
I am graduating college in December and moving to Tampa a few weeks later. I found a cute little house for $50,000… an awesome price. This would be my first home. I have a few problems. I found the house over the internet and will only get one chance to see it. I don’t want to waste time and money to travel from PA to FL and find out it is in a bad area or something. My second problem is not having a job upon arrival. It would be nice to be there for a month and then buy, but thats difficult with a lease and I cant stay in a hotel with all my furniture sitting in a U Haul for a month.
Too many ifs. This is not the time to take a chance on a major investment. If it’s only $50,000 you can guarantee there will be major problems. Get yourself settled first, find a job, and get to know your surroundings first. Give yourself at least a year. Don’t rush…there’s no hurry. You’re still young and have a lot of time.
